These
images were taken for a story on the new terminal in Detroit. The
story was coming out after the terminal was complete but I had to shoot
months before when the building was still under construction. My client
needed shots which showed the emensity of the site, however wide angle
shots
are a little tough when you have construction materials, workers, etc.
My
decision was to shoot at night, allowing the dark to hide most of the
mess.
I spent the better part of a month climbing around the roof, empty streets
and
runways, doing things I could never do once the place was open. Again,
I shot
Type 55 Polaroid so I could see exactly what I was getting. I am placing
this
series in my personal work section because I expanded upon a single image
assignment to make a series for myself.
